Colorado Emerging Professionals Committee
LINKING NEW PROFESSIONALS AND RECENT GRADUATES
TO THE GREEN BUILDING COMMUNITY
Welcome to the Emerging Professionals Committee. Our mission is to integrate the fresh energy and enthusiasm of recent graduates and new professionals into the larger green building movement. We host the annual Natural Talent Design Competition, and provide numerous opportunities for members to interact with established professionals. The atmosphere is open and casual, with room for big ideas and lots of volunteering opportunities that best match your area of interest.
Emerging Professionals:
The Emerging Professionals Committee is a diverse group of enthusiastic entrants to the world of sustainable design, engineering, and construction. Members include recent graduates, young professionals and career changers looking to connect with the green building community.
Our objective is to provide education, networking, professional development, and volunteer opportunities which help members connect with the green building community and promote sustainable building practices and lifestyles.
Monthly meetings include presentations by industry professionals and Chapter leaders, providing on-going opportunities for volunteering, learning, and meeting professionals involved in sustainability as well as connecting with the larger USGBC community. Other events include Building Tours, LEED Study Groups, Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together work days. New members are always welcome!
Volunteer with Emerging Professionals:
Volunteer opportunities include event planning and support, organizing and leading discussion groups, working with Habitat for Humanity or Rebuilding Together, and providing support for other chapter and branch functions as membership and interest allow.
Activities
- Networking opportunities for new entrants to the green building community, including recent graduates, young professionals, and career changers
- Host educational presentations on diverse green building topics
- Support other Chapter and Branch committees
- Coordinate service projects with Habitat for Humanity and/or Rebuilding Together
- Raise visibility of USGBC Colorado Chapter among new entrants to the green building community
